"Tips for Future Education Students"

“Recipe for success: Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing.” -William A. Ward      One of the best study tips for students on this whole list is to find a comfortable place to study. We all know that it takes a lot of mental energy to learn anything, and being in uncomfortable place or having constant breaks won't work. We will end up frustrated and feel like we wasted our time without a suitable place. Second, plan a day to study, since there are so many students working and going to school at the same time, it can be difficult to find time to study. Studying a little every day, even just 30 minutes, is the best option. In reality, however, this is unlikely to work realistically. In this case, find a day of the week and declare it as a study day. Give yourself a break while you study because uninterrupted study is inefficient and you won't absorb as much information. Thi...

"Teachers Must Be Creative"

Image
During my field study I got to experience what learning looks like inside of the classroom setting and I got new ideas I can incorporate into my future classroom.  I learned that learning inside of the classroom setting can be fun, engaging, and educational. I learned that incorporating the arts can truly enhance lessons/activities and get the students engaged in a way I haven't seen before. I definitely want to incorporate the arts into my future classroom especially now that I have seen the benefits it has on student learning. I think some teachers forget that students can still learn while having a fun time doing it. I have definitely learned that being creative can be beneficial and they are not just some crafts students do to fill time.     Overall, I loved my field study experience at Philippine Christian University (JHS & SHS) and Edilberto S. Legaspi Integrated National High School. I have a bunch of knowledge to bring...

"Why I Decided to Become a Teacher?"

I want to be a teacher for one very simple reason, I want to make a difference. While there are many areas where I could achieve this, I believe education is where I have the greatest impact. Every day, thousands of young people around the world feel like they're not good enough or "just can't". And I know that feeling because I also felt the same. As I continue my study to become a teacher, I came to understand that the job can be incredibly draining, but I know in my heart that the rewards much surpass the exhaustion. Teaching requires patience, understanding, compassion and enthusiasm, which I am more than willing to give every day. "A teacher who is attempting to teach without inspiring the student with a desire to learn is hammering on a cold iron." -Horace Mann
